WRAPAROUND CHILDCARE & HOLIDAY CLUB MANAGER

Full-Time | Permanent

Salary range - Grade 22-25 (£33,699 to £36,363) depending on experience

Do you have what it takes to be our Wraparound Childcare and Holiday Club Manager?

Harlands Primary School is looking to recruit an experienced individual to lead our new in-house wraparound care provision which will become operational from 1 September.  The anticipated start date for the role will be by arrangement, as preparatory work will be required during the school summer break

Role Purpose

We are seeking an enthusiastic, empathetic and experienced individual to join our vibrant school community in this new venture.

As our Wraparound Care Manager, you will be responsible for the entire provision.  Looking after breakfast club in the morning, and a vibrant after school provision in the afternoon, you and your staff team will deliver an extensive and wide range of activities to give the children enriching and rewarding experiences

The successful candidate will need to understand and model our core values of Responsibility, Optimism, Confidence, Kindness, Critical Thinking, and Respect, playing their part in sustaining our inclusive and engaging learning environment after the day’s formal education has ended.

This will be a full-time role, as the Manager will also be expected to organise our holiday club provision during school holidays.  The annual leave entitlement will be 23 days, plus bank holidays and a minimum of four school INSET days, with attendance required at one mandatory “whole school” INSET day, usually held in September.

Core hours of work during term-time will be 6.45-9.00am each morning, and 2.45-6.30pm each evening, with additional management time of 7 hours per week (to be worked by agreement) making a 37 hour week

Holiday clubs are normally run between the hours of 8.30am-5.30pm.

All other terms and conditions will be the same as for school support staff, including automatic enrolment in the Local Government Pension Scheme – see Home :: LGPS for the benefits of this scheme.

The post-holder will also benefit from the support of a Deputy Manager who will be expected to help with holiday clubs and covering the Manager’s annual leave.

National Joint Council Grade 4-6, £13.05-£13.47 per hour, depending on experience

Harlands Primary School is looking to recruit playleaders for our new in-house wraparound care provision which will become operational from 1 September. 

Role Purpose

We are seeking enthusiastic and empathetic individuals to help deliver engaging and fun activities for the children in our care before and after school.  This will include the supervision of meal times. 

The successful candidates will need to understand and model our core values of Responsibility, Optimism, Confidence, Kindness, Critical Thinking, and Respect, playing their part in sustaining our inclusive and engaging learning environment after the day’s formal education has ended.

Our breakfast club will run between 7.00 and 8.30am each morning, whilst the after school club operates between 3.00-6.30pm each afternoon.  Play leaders would be expected to arrive shortly before these times to allow for daily briefing.

Holiday clubs are normally run between the hours of 8.30am-5.30pm.

The successful candidates would ideally work for a minimum of two morning and two afternoon shifts per week, with opportunity to work up to five of each.  This will be discussed at interview.

EXPERIENCED TEACHING ASSISTANT / HLTA for September 2026

Full-Time | Initial fixed term to July 2027

Salary range – Grade 3 (£24,796-£25,185 pro rate), but see below

Harlands Primary School is looking to recruit an individual for a dual TA/HLTA, for five days per week, term time only, from September 2026.  This will be for an initial one year fixed term contract to July 2027 due to accommodating a bulge class, but with the possibility of becoming permanent thereafter. 

The role will include some HLTA duties which will be paid at Grade 8, £32,597-£35,412 (£16.89 to £18.36 pro rata)

Role Purpose

We are seeking an enthusiastic, empathetic and experienced individual to join our vibrant school community. This is a flexible role that will support learning in class, work with children needing additional support (including on a 1:1 basis) and require confidence covering classes across the school. The successful candidate will need to understand and model our core values of Responsibility, Optimism, Confidence, Kindness, Critical Thinking, and Respect playing their part in sustaining our inclusive and engaging learning environment.

 Key Skills and Qualities

The hours of work for all our HLTAs/TAs are normally between 8.20am-3.20pm and will include lunchtime duties.  A 30 minute break is allowed for your own lunch, with the timing of this depending upon the needs of the school.
