Acer Sharing Assembly - Friday, 19 March
What outstanding humour! What vivid acting! What incredibly amazing teamwork! On Friday 19th March, Acer class performed a sharing assembly that will be remembered by Harlands primary school forever!! A success in the making!
Amazing humour - it was like watching something live at the Apollo! For starters, Charlie and Robbie made the whole audience (including myself and Mrs. Goodlace) laugh with the hammer, which smacked Max to death and caused David a whole lot of piercing pain in his leg. I was in this next scene, but I was not the star of the show, the crazy cows were of course! Poor Toby had to cling on for his dear life, while Paul happily filled his bucket. But the funniest scene of all was the classroom scene! The kids (Sushir, Maddy and Poppy) had to shout and scream so the grumpy old teacher (Fergus) could hear. He was so deaf that even our screeching at the end of the show made him say, “what!?”
The incredible, vivid acting made everyone speechless! I don’t know how everyone managed to keep a straight face and not laugh the whole time. Toby and Paul (Billy Bob) had an important part in acting because they had to deliver all the correct information at the right time without getting muddled, but George and his cheerleading pals did the best acting (with the exception of Fergus) because they had to deliver lots of information, whilst chanting a song and dancing - outstanding!
But for me the best of all was the teamwork because everyone had to come on at the right time and be in time with each other in the dance and song, showing great co-peration within us. Again the cheerleading group had to use teamwork to get the job done, as did the cluttered cow group. The brilliant teamwork made the show a success! A huge one!
The assembly was a giant success because of the laughter, humour, shouting and acting! Francis, who was the backend of a cow, remarked: ” Our best sharing assembly ever!” I, and the whole rest of the class, think exactly the same. The best sharing assembly ever.

Spring Term Review
My house was amazing! Our sharing assembly was great! Sandwich making was incredible. The spring term has been magnificent. But why?
Our houses were amazing in the test. We all did extremely well in it but there could be only one winner. So we all tried our best to insulate our house to make sure we didn’t let heat out. The winners were Tara and Georgia and they won a elephant each.
Our sharing assembly was magnificent because it went amazingly well and everyone enjoyed it as well as us. One of the best things was Fergus as a teacher and he couldn’t hear very well so his class had shout the answers to him also I liked my bit in the sharing assembly as well and if you are wondering what my part was I was a cow who has in a competition.
Sandwich making day was amazingly fun to do. We worked in a group and we all produced some magnificent sandwiches and set them out beautifully as well .The people who were in my group were: Me, Tara and Sushir and we made a smoothie what tasted so nice and our sandwiches tasted extremely nice as well.
I really enjoyed this term and I hope next term will be as good as this term.

Sandwich Making
This annual event always brings out the creative skills in year 6, though this year seemed to have a more continental flavour than previously.
It's not entirely clear who has eaten the sandwiches - we hope Mickey and Minnie enjoyed them.
Spring Term Review (2)
What a superb term! Everyone in year 6 will agree with me that this has been the best term ever. Cycle training, Sandwich Making Day and my personal favourite House Making were all awesome! But what was the best?
Although the ground was slippery from the winter ice, we all loved doing cycle training. There were lots of pot holes, which made it very difficult to ride your bike. We all worked really hard and tried our absolute hardest and it paid of because in Acer class each and every one of us passed (first time). My friend Tara, who also did cycle training, said “It took high levels of concentration and determination but we all are exceedingly proud that we did cycle training.”
Cycle training was brilliant but I loved Sandwich Making Day even more! Poppy Maddy and I all worked really hard together to create our own balanced meal. If I may say so my self it tasted terrific! We weren’t the only ones who are proud with what they managed to achieve. A close friend Maisie worked really hard in her group to make a mind bogglingly super feast! Everyone in year 6 had an amazingly tremendous time!
Both cycle training and Sandwich Making Day were exceedingly exhilarating but I have to say that my personal favourite has to be making my own thermal insulated house. It was fantastic! I tried really hard to include as many insulating materials as I possibly could! With four layers of cotton wool on my roof, a layer of cotton wool and foil on my walls and cotton wool and a cool leopard print material on my floor finally I had some thick see through material as my windows, it was as insulated as In could make it. As a result I won a cuddly toy for having the best insulated house.
Year 6 so far has been the best year ever. What makes it even better is that Mr Simmonds teaches you in a really fun way. Year 6 is great you will love it when you get there! But what will be your favourite part?
Cycle Training - February 2010
The weather may not have been particularly kind, but the children still enjoyed their cycle training despite the potholes in the local roads!
