School uniform

The school uniform will be changing from September 2012.  Please go to http://www.harlandsprimaryschool.org/news/index.php to see the details

Shoes - You should wear well-fitting, dark-coloured leather (or leather substitute) shoes to school. High heels, platform soles or sandals with thin straps are not allowed for safety reasons. Trainers are only allowed during PE sessions. You should always wear socks, even in warm weather unless you want to get smelly feet!

We expect you to wear your uniform as tidily as possible. You need to keep your hair off your face, otherwise you won’t be able to see your work properly!

There is not a lot of space on the pegs so try not to bring too much to school – only what you need. Make sure that your name is marked on your clothes, including your shoes and PE kit, so that we can return it to you straight away if you lose it.

There is often discussion about whether wearing school uniform is good or bad. Even if you don’t like wearing it, at least it is easy to know what you are wearing that day! This article is written by a Newsround Press Packer. Do you agree with her?

Extra Curricular Activities - 21-25 May
With the year 6 teachers on the Isle of Wight, there will be no HARDBALL CRICKET with Mr Simmonds on Monday, or CYCLING with Mr Burdass on Wednesday. However, GIRLS CRICKET for years 4/5 will still take place on Friday with Mrs Towler (instead of Mr Simmonds). All other activities will be running as normal.

  Parking
Please note that for events for parents held during the day time, there is NO PARKING available on the school site. Visitors need to be aware that there are parking restrictions around the immediate school vicinity between 9.00-10.00am and 1.00-2.00pm, so please allow sufficient time to park elsewhere and walk to the school.
  School Safety
May we remind parents that we will not allow children to go into the car park. Parents should park on Penland Road and walk up to school to collect their children as normal. For extra curricular activites, children will either be in the Infant playground if they have been doing sports outside, or released via the Front Entrance doors if the activity is located inside.
