Some information about our school
Our school was opened in 1964. It is situated in Penland Road, on the north-western edge of Haywards Heath. We are lucky to have large classrooms that overlook the school grounds. Each classroom is equipped with an interactive white board and linked to our computer network. The school has a large hall, a studio and library facilities. The new building that is almost complete has given the school three new classrooms and a purpose built library and computer suite. Here's a picture of the building work:

There are fourteen classes each with about thirty children, together with a teacher and teaching assistants. There are two classes in each age group from age 4 to age 11. Each class is named after a famous English person. The Reception classes are called Milligan and Dahl (authors), Year 1 are Purcell and Sullivan (composers), Year 2 are Attenborough and Bellamy (naturalists), Year 3 are Hepworth and Moore (sculptors), Year 4 are MacArthur and Redgrave (yachtswoman and rower), Year 5 are Chaucer and Shakespeare (writers) and Year 6 are Austen and Bronte (also writers). When children move on to a new class, they are encouraged to find out a little bit about the person whom their class is named after.
Our school aims to...
* Encourage independence and a love of learning to enable children to reach their full potential;
* Enable children to understand and respect themselves and others;
* Provide a happy, safe and well-managed environment;
* Forge an open partnership between home and school;
* Encourage children to make a positive contribution to school life;
* Prepare children for the challenges and opportunities awaiting them.
